Cable & Loom Assemblies
CORDS is well positioned to cater for a broad variety of cable assembly requirements – this is reflected in the diverse industry spectrum of applications for which we currently produce assemblies:
- Information Technology & data networking
- Aeronautical
- Telecommunications
- Audio-visual
- Signalling (e.g. industrial robotics, physical access control, telemetry)
- Retail point-of-sale device connectivity
- Mining (e.g. equipment signalling)
- Looms used in product manufacture (e.g. inverters, battery cables, lighting, panel heaters, surge protection, refrigeration control and monitoring, and more)
- RF and GSM-based interconnectivity
We have a broad range of specialised skills and equipment which ensures that we are able to provide quality products that enjoy an excellent reputation for reliability and robustness. Cable assembly services include:
- sourcing and procuring of assembly components
- crimping (machine crimping and tooling caters for a range of connector manufacturers)
- modular crimping
- soldering and solder dipping (leaded and lead-free)
- cable and wire cutting and stripping
- loom assembly and formation
We are privileged to work with some excellent partners in the event that housing/assembly components requiring injection moulding need to be incorporated into any particular cable assembly.
No cable assembly product is dispatched before undergoing a rigorous quality assessment (which is dependent on the application – test criteria are agreed with a customer before production proceeds). Regardless of the application, every cable produced is subject to the minimum of continuity and pull-force tests.
